I've had this issue on-and-off with my K10D and my K7. When the 16-50 is at full wide, pressing the shutter release halfway will give a hearty first bump to approximate focus, and then the camera will just sit there and do nothing... not achieving lock. My "fix" for this has been to switch the focus mode from single to continuous - since the shutter will ALWAYS release when you press it all the way in CF mode, it just takes the picture without all of the focus fine-tuning. Very annoying, but I've never been able to determine if the issue was the camera or the lens. I guess I'll find out when the K5 arrives. -Charles -- Charles Robinson - [email protected] Minneapolis, MN http://charles.robinsontwins.org http://www.facebook.com/charles.robinson -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
