56mm f/1.6 manual focus. Seems to be reasonably priced.
Generally I wouldn't mention such except that it is one of the few I've
seen that IS available in Pentax K-mount.
Start's shipping 13 April.
I've never understood the appeal of the "Lensbaby" line..
Isn't it just a way to get "Instamatic" quality shots from your
multi-thousand dollar digital setup? What is the appeal?
Charles,
I see the point that Bruce is trying to make: experimenting with an
"non-orthodox" lens can occasionally give some interesting results.
While I am trying to do that myself with a fish-eye, I was also puzzled by
Lensbaby line when it was introduced.
At one of the photo-equipment shows in San Diego back in 2007, I came to
the stand with Lensbaby, and directly asked the lady presenting the first
line of Lensbaby lenses: "So, what's the appeal? What can I do with these
lenses?" I was genuinely interested. But she must have took that as an
attack, and after saying one sentence turned away to somebody else (rather
rudely), and never came back. I just shook by shoulders and went to
something else that interested me.
