Okay, then. What are you going to use if you can't get batteries to
operate your camera?
What is YOUR alternative? Sell the camera? Use it at 1/100th sec
forever? 
In my camera, it's arrange for a battery or shelve it. 
I prefer to use it with the least amount of inconvenience. The adapter
does that for me.
