I sometimes prefer using a handheld meter. I, too, was turned off by the $30 price for that adapter. Whenever I use my classic H3 Pentax I have my trusty handheld meter. True, it uses a battery, but a 9-volt battery, very available. I like to use incident metering because I have much better results than reflected metering.
