So either someone (1) does not know what they are talking about, or (2) is lying. I find the latter extremely unlikely.
I can say that I have personally experienced both and will be willing to testify under oath to the same.
I got a call from my "Regional Altium Sales Rep" in March 2005 (last month) to introduce himself and see if I would be interested in buying more copies of DXP/2004 or other products. This was an Altium employee and the caller ID did list Altium as the source of the call. I told him that I still used 99SE and exactly what I thought about DXP/2004 (that it is a huge step backwards). He told me flatly that this was the first time that he had hard of someone preferring 99SE over DXP/2004 and the only reason people are still using 99SE is because they do not have the money to upgrade to DXP/2004. He told me that the company is not aware of any unhappiness in the customers towards DXP/2004 and is not aware of any customers that have gotten DXP/2004 and are still using 99SE. I am the first one to ever report unhappiness with 99SE to the company, yes the first customer ever.
Now you tell me, does this person not know what he is talking about or is he a bold face liar? I will not even go into all that transpired at led to my buying the license.
