Thanks for confirming my point.

Let's go back to your first reply. What did you mean by "winning"
then? Obviously, you meant "winning" as in (1) "Advancing the
substantial causes of the left." Clearly, you did not mean "winning"
as in (2) "Defeating bozo McCain and electing bozo Obama." The latter
interpretation would make no sense, since we already know that bozo
McCain was defeated (in the narrow sense of the word "defeat").

So, why do you have to dissert now about the different meanings of the
word "winning"? Again, I was not confused about what you meant. If I
had said, "Jim, what do you mean 'not winning'? We won! We defeated
McCain!", then you would have had a reason to straighten things out
for me.

The different meanings of "winning" are a matter because, in your
second reply, to escape the charge of immutability, you needed to
switch from "winning" v.1 to "winning" v.2. But since it was you who
mixed up the meanings, alluding now to the different meanings of
"winning" would only make sense if the intended target of your
semantic clarification were yourself.

But nowhere do you write that you forgot or mistook "winning" v.1 for
"winning" v.2 in your second reply, and that now you want to admit you
were wrong or slipped by conflating the issue. On the contrary, you
make your remarks as if it was me or other readers who were confused
about these meanings.

My best guess is that is another decoy. So you are compounding the
mischief here. In your first reply, you claim that the left cannot
win v.1 in elections by voting and should limit itself to propaganda
work. In your second reply, you backpedal on that, but not wanting
people to notice, you mix up winning v.1 with winning v.2. Now you
smuggle your own deliberate confusion as if it had been introduced by
me.

Wow.

Now I expect you to act offended. Am I implicitly accusing you of
dishonesty? Etc. Well, let's say that we're just dealing with 1% of
our communication problems. Again, I'll try and work on the other
99%.
