When the terror bombing of German workers was going on, that was FDR's war because he was the one making the decisions. When the extermination bombings of Tokyo, Hiroshima, and Nagasaki were perpetrated FDR was dead and buried. Those genocidal decisions were made by Truman without seeking approval (which would of course have been enthusiastic) from FDR's spirit. It was Truman's war, nobody else's.
