Ron asks what the rules of collaboration are. I suspect that rules are likely
to inhibit collaboration, but then, following Marx, I do not know how to write
cookbooks. My intuition is that trust and respect are essential to fruitful
collaboration. Julio's description of the fortunately infrequent bad behavior
indicates that those conditions are not in effect here.

When I do on some were threatened to run sub anybody for disruptive behavior, I
catch hell, or, even worse very valued friends sign off from the list.

What I had hoped that the list could do would be to collectively develop a
nonsectarian analysis that would be helpful in both expanding the number of
activists and helping them formulate actions. Again, I was frightfully naïve
when I heard about email lists in the early 1980s, I believe. My informant
about this new technology was Sam Lanfranco, who later went on to start the
labor list. My first recruit to the list was Michael Lebowitz. At least, I
can take pride in that choice.

Your hope is reasonable, but how do pen-l members define projects that will
make a difference?
What should be the goals?

Can pen-l members collaborate to make recommendations on how society should be
changed to make life better for us all?

What are the rules of collaboration?
