Jean, I went to work researching raynaud's...and I do not like what I have found. My PCP diagnosed me with it, upon sight, the first time she saw me (my feet and hands were blue,) but she never explained it to me. She merely told me that my extremities would turn blue from the cold. She acted as if it was nothing. I had never taken the time to research raynaud's because I thought it was something I simply have to live with. Now, I am a bit more concerned. According to several sources, Raynaud's can lead to gangreene and tissue death. The more I read about it, the less I like the disease. My extremities are no longer blue...they turn black. They always go numb. I have "attacks" (as they call them) almost constantly. My extremities are always ice cold. I thought that was due to my hypothyroidism. My PCP has not offered me treatment nor an explanation for anything. According to her, I am "healthy." I am beginning to think I need a new PCP. Well, now that you have me researching Raynaud's, we are going to learn a lot about it. Everything I read surprises me. It is a "catchall" of diseases. They say it is diagnosed when no other cause can be found. Some Info to Check out: Supplements to Take: Prevention: Hope this info helps you learn more about the disease/syndrome. Take care. Meri |
