PT,

You mention in your post that you traveled the east coast checking out various doctors for yourself.

Did you happen to locate any neuroendocrinologists or other doctors in the northern NJ/NYC area?

I'm doing as you did, and trying to find the best doctors for me and find it daunting and exhausting.

But I am determined to get better and that requires a good doctor that knows and understands pituitary tumors.

I read recently that there are 35 people with pituitary disorders out of every 1,000,000 people.  That is 0.0035% of people.  And yet 25.0% of people have a pituitary tumor that does not bother their pituitary.

So, no wonder it is difficult to find a doctor who understands and treats our pituitary disorders!  These doctors are rare, too.

There just are not enough patients with this problem to give many doctors the chance to treat them and therefore learn how to do that.

I just wish they would form a central listing or website so we could find the closest ones to us.

If you did find any doctors in my area, please let me know.

Thank you.

Pam
