I'm sorry about that Cat, I saw your name on a post as I was reading through, and I don't want to have anyone confused thinking it's you, a longer member, posting when I post so I'll try to be sure to use my full name, Cathy instead.  I don't want anyone to feel like I'm trying to take their name so to speak.

The appt with the GP today confirmed that he won't give us the referral.  We got the insurance to change an existing referral to Dr. Ludlam, and they are sending a copy of the letter to the Dr.  The problem is that if the GP tries to give a new referral out there, the local commander at the hospital itself will deny it because they would have to pay for the travel and accommodations.   So the GP said that if Tricare accepts the change, and we are willing to pay the travel and accomodations, that he has no problem with us going.  Dr. Ludlam said that he can accept the letter and set up an appt with that letter.  So as long as all goes well I should be able to set up an appt. in a weeks time and get out there to have this looked at by a specialist.

The problem my GP faces is that he doesn't know what testing to order beyond thyroid and prolactin (that was all he ordered) and he only ordered the plain MRI, no contrast and pituitary study.  So after 5 years of battling, he won't find anything new with those few tests even though all the previous imaging has reported intrasellar cisternal herniation and most recently the CT with a cyst.

So I am asking you all to PLEASE PLEASE keep your fingers crossed and pray that this all goes the way it's supposed to and I'll finally get the proper work up and assessment done to find what kind of pituitary disorder I'm dealing with and better yet, get it fixed!

Thanks again,

Cathy
