M,

I second Minnie's advice to seek several second opinions. This is very important. Also check for sanctions against the physicians you wish to consult. This is also very important. I consulted seven neurosurgeons when surgery was recommended by the first one I saw. I am confident in my choice since I consulted many of the "top" pit tumor/skull base neurosurgeons. I chose a neuro that utilizes the minimally invasive endoscopic approach.

If you feel more comfortable with a certain technique, consult a neuro who utilizes that technique. I have compared all surgery techniques and I definitely prefer minimally invasive surgery. Learn all you can about your options and remember to ask specific questions when you consult neuros. I am glad to see you so interested in learning more about everything, I wish more patients were as proactive as you are. It is always best to know as much as you can-it's your health, your life.

Take care. You're in my prayers.

Meri
