Hi everyone, need a lot of advice and was very thankful I came across this web page.

I was diagnosed with a pituitary tumor in May of this year. I went to my primary doctor for headaches and she sent me for an MRI.  When the results came in, she sent me to a neurologist who in turn sent me to a neurosurgen.

To make a long story short, the neurosurgen said it wasn't life threatening and he wanted to wait 3 months and see me again.  I went back at the end of August, and he then suggested surgery.

Everyone insisted I get a second opionion because the surgeon I'm going to now is not a pituitary specialist.  Anyway, my neurologist wants me to see a Dr. in New York at Roosevelt Hospital, but the little research that I've been doing and the people I've been talking to, suggest I go to John Hopkins in MD.

I have an appointment for both, but I don't know of anyone with my problem who can give me advice as to where to go. My gut instinct says to wait the month and go to John Hopkins.....unfortunately, the headaches are getting worse and the pressure has now moved from behind the left eye to the top of my head.  My doctors here don't seem too concerned and now I'm getting a bit worried.

I have no one to talk to about this.  All I know is that the tumor is non-secreting, it's pressing against the optic nerve, but I've been to the ophthalmologist and as of now it is not causing any nerve damage.  The MRI report states that it is a macroadenoma, but not how big it is....I thought my doctor said it was just about an inch big??? Could that be correct?

If anyone could shed some light on this I would appreciate it. The doctors here don't seem too worried and are very unconcerned, yet the info. I've been reading says it should be taken care of........

Thanks for listening
