I'm hoping someone has some insight on whether or not what I have is acromegaly!  I've been seeing an endo and then a specialist in acromegaly.  The specialist says that because my hands are normal, he doesn't think it's acromegaly.  My labs showed two IGF-1's elevated ( 605, 551 ref range 100-390).  My IGFBP-3 was 6.2 (ref range 3.5-7.0).  I have had a GH suppression test, but won't get the results until next week.  The specialist said I may just be a person that has "normal" high IGF-1.  I did have my IGF-1 tested three years ago and it was completely normal.  He thinks that was a lab error.  I had an MRI and it showed no tumor.  I did have a microadenoma removed 12 years ago that was presumed to be a prolactinoma.   My symptoms are:
Light menstruation
Light lactation (prolactin level normal)
Increased sweating (worst in the morning, decreases as the day goes on)
Swelling in hands and feet (but it goes down during the day, worst in morning)
Increased "hooding" of eyelids
Muscle weakness in arms and legs
Carpal Tunnel like pain in hands and wrist (both hands)
Numbness of pinky fingers after prolonged use
Increased acne
What looks like slight swelling over my brow and nose ridge (soft, like water retention)

If anyone has any input, I'd really appreciate it!!!
Thanks!
Lee
