I agree.  I *do* require those features that mysql doesn't
have yet.  so I use postgresql.  I look forward to a few years
from now, when the features that I need will be in mysql and
then I'll have a real choice.

and timing.  mysql is a clear example of "Worse is better".
just as, e.g., perl was.  Both were available and were licensed
in a way that allowed them to be used for free so that they could
gain market share.  market share has its own momentum.

That's not sour-graping by the way.  i don't care very much
that mysql is more commonly deployed than postgresql :-).
I'm happy that both are available, and that mysql is improving
on that third leg of correctness.
