Only runs on Dragonfly BSD. And IMHO, the BSD crowd is so marginalized (aside from MacOS X, of course), and Dragonfly BSD is only a small fraction of the BSD crowd, that I would be concerned about community contribution, support, etc. It seems that Hammer is a one-man show.
As Hans Reiser has so amply proven, there are pitfalls to depending on a one-man show for a critical part of your OS infrastructure. ZFS appeals to me because there's a big company (granted, they are losing money, but they still have thousands of developers) behind it, as well as community support. btrfs also appeals to me because there's an even bigger company behind it. Lest the Linux crowd complain, I'd like to point out that almost all the significant code contributions to Linux, are being made by people on a big company's payroll. So one-man shows like Hammer FS make me deeply suspicious...
