Hi all,

Most of us have been using Linux for some time now. Some have been using
Linux for almost a decade. Some have just begun using Linux.

Whatever the length of time, we have different reasons for using Linux.

I'm curious about a few things, which maybe some of you might like to
answer for the benefit of the rest of us.

What got you started in Linux?

curiosity on a new O/S.
Who influenced you into using Linux, if any?
the lecturer of the seminar and some working student friends who was also using linux.
Where did you first learn about Linux?
a seminar on linux at school during college days and some laboratory exercises on "chat" afterwards.
How did you get your copy of Linux?
I borrowed a copy on CD from one of my friends and burned a copy for me. When he bought a book on linuxwith a CD.
When did you first hear about Linux?
At school.
When did you actually use Linux for the first time?

During my OJT, in a small ISP in Cebu City.
When did you install Linux on your own 'puter?
sometime in 1997.
Why did you decide to try Linux out?
i want to complete the requirement on a school subject required to graduate my course..
Why do you still use Linux? or Why do you no longer use Linux?
flexibity over NT. all for free, walang bayad! inn! para pogi points sa syota. hehehe.
What is your favorite thing about Linux?
the command:  rm -rf /  hehehe.   its a free solution. big savings for an ISP. i prefer to type commands than to click!

Quite a number of questions here, but the last three are perhaps the ones
that will reveal the most interesting answers.

If your answer is quite lengthy, maybe you would prefer to send me your
answers in private email. I will probably come out with an article which I
will post to the list summarizing my findings.

Have a nice free day!
