#_ hi jeff,
#_
#_ that's just what qlinux did. we got a plain redhat 6.2 distro, fooled
#_ around with its install scripts so that all the user has to do is pop the
#_ cd into the cd drive and boot. after a few minutes, you have a redhat 6.2
#_ system complete with an office productivity suite, a vcd player, an mp3
#_ player, some neat games, etc. no more fooling around with partitions, no
#_ more deciding which packages to install, no need to download neat
#_ multimedia apps from the internet. it's basically meant for newbies.
#_
#_ otoh, it was tested on limited hardware. so it's not guaranteed to work
#_ all the time. but we did get it to install successfully in apc on the
#_ first try.
#_
#_ if you want to check it out i think there are still some of them in the
#_ office. please email me privately.
See, this is what we're talking about, but tailormade for a particular
governement office. If another office needs something a little different
then it's a matter of modifying the redhat kickstart or in mandrakes case
/root/auto_inst.cfg.pl and adapting it to the new CD.
If you run /Mandrake/mdkinst/usr/bin/perl-install/g_auto_install from the
install CD of Mandrake 8.0 it is suppose to run a _simulated_ install and
the resulting auto_inst.cfg.pl can be used to autoinstall.
