hi jeff,

that's just what qlinux did. we got a plain redhat 6.2 distro,
fooled around with its install scripts so that all the user has to do
is pop the cd into the cd drive and boot. after a few minutes, you have a
redhat 6.2 system complete with an office productivity suite, a vcd player,
an mp3 player, some neat games, etc. no more fooling around with partitions,
no more deciding which packages to install, no need to download neat
multimedia apps from the internet. it's basically meant for newbies.

otoh, it was tested on limited hardware. so it's not guaranteed to work all
the time. but we did get it to install successfully in apc on the first try.

if you want to check it out i think there are still some of them in the
office. please email me privately.
