I'll summarise the situation The BBCiplayer v1.3.* in this thread support HSL only and has not been updated since posting. Patches have been posted but the BBC have made changes so I'm not sure the situation of V1.3.*
Your version of LMS is quite old - I only test my version of BBCiPlayer on LMS 7.8 and 7.9. What version of BBCiplayer were you running before ? I created BBCiPlayerV1.4.* to support DASH which is an alternative non proprietary format to HLS (Apple). No changes have been made to the HLS support. I am not sure of the status of playing HLS stream on any version as I do not test or support it. I suspect there may be issues on some Windows systems. V1.4.* DASH has problems when used on Windows system so I created V1.5.* to overcome these problems. Some non Windows users still use V1.4.10 but I am not supporting it but users can still install it. V.1.5.3 is the latest version in the DASH BBCiPlayer which could be considered "release". The plugin support skip back of live DASH stream (e.g. skip back to start of current program) BBC are testing streaming Flac over DASH and will be stream the Proms in Flac (about 400-500kbps) . The BBCiPlayer V.1.5.4.* supports Flac but as it is test I suspect there may be updates needed when broadcasting starts in July. V1.5.4 also supports segment/track info for On-Demand programs (DASH only). So V1.5.4.4 can be considered the "beta" of the BBCiPlayer DASH. At the beginning of May 2017 BBC killed the feeds for BBCiPlayerExtra V1.9.* so the ougin stopped working. The BBC created two new feeds to "replace" the oldf feeds but they are funciuotnally very limited. I have managed to cobble together a new but limited version of BBCiPlayerExtra 2.0 see http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?107477-Announce-BBCiPlayerExtra-v2-0 To install - Add the required repo to the plugins tab, click Apply and then as before add BBCiPlayer and BBCiPlayerExtra by checking boxes etc. The BBCiPlayer and BBCiPlayerExtra plugins is available from the following repo URLs ( I need to consolidate) BBCiPlayer V1.5.2 http://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/bpaplugins/betarelease-repo.xml BBCiPlayer V1.5.3 http://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/bpaplugins/V153testrelease-repo.xml BBCiPlayer V1.5.4.x http://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/bpaplugins/V154testrelease-repo.xml Please do not install but for the record BBCiPlayer V1.4.10 http://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/bpaplugins/repo-short.xml It would be nice to get users onto one/two versions but for that to happen I would have to "force" users to update and that may create flurry of posts from users who updated and then have problems and are upset. Also I would need to warn that custom menus would be lost If I were to force the update then by right I need to have the time to answer the problems - at the moment I cannot guarantee the time. So the status quo - messy as it is means the majority of BBCiPlayer users are happy with their setup even it is not the latest version. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=53229 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
