OK - that seems to mean audio data is building up in the plugin waiting to be played. What sort of player do you use ? e.g Raspberry Pi with s/w driven audio out If it is "soft" using squeezelite based in some form - does the same problem happen with a h/w player such as Touch, SB3 etc. If the problem is player rather than stream type - when you play a "Listen Again" program - the advertised time should be different the playing time.
