Logs are always useful - sometime it is the messages that are missing that help solve the problem. Save the log messages as a text file and ZIP it up with a "zip" extension. Then when making a reply to forum click on the "manage attachements" button at the bottom section of the reply screen - this will enable it to be uploaded and attached to your reply. I installed a clean version of SC7 onto an XP systems and AlienBBC 2.0 into a directory call c:\programme and AlienBBC Settings worked OK. I then deleted the basic.html file but I did not get the 404 message with either Firefox or IE7 - so the 404 message may be misleading. To understand the natue of the problem I want to reproduce the 404 message at will. I have tried deleting files and renaming directories/files but I cannot get the message. What browser are you using ? Can you provide the complete details of the 404 message ? Where does it appear ? If it is on the browser - is there a corresponding entry in the log ?
