This is good news for you but it makes it hard to find the original problem.
If you haven't re-installed any code or didn't add in any new plugins or altered any SC settings - then the issue is related to caching somewhere or a temporary lookup failure - in SC, in the browser, XP or possibly the router ! When the 404 error occurred: What browser are you using ? What skin are you using ? What language has been set in SC ? Was the 404 message in English or German ?
