First of all: You hit the nail with your last post - I -was- assuming that SqueezeIR could assign IR-commands to the buttons no matter where in the interface you were, and that's why I couldn't get it working!
I have just tried the buttons from within the SqueezeIR menu and it works! So, at least that problem is solved now! Here is my take on your questions: indifference_engine;452240 Wrote: > I stand corrected - It appears that I CAN get the SBC's keys to send ir > codes even when not in the SqueezeIR's screen!! Yes, you would end up sending a lot of superfluous IR-codes, which is not optimal, but then again, there would probably not be any harm done. > How should it be defined which screens cause the buttons to send which > codes? If you can actually control the button behaviour independently on different screens, I think you should make this a configuration issue, so that users can make these decisions. Then again, I imagine that this would require some kind of graphic UI in order to be usable. Maybe you should just make the button behaviour global across all screens instead? > Can I (and should I) let the default behaviour of the buttons be > over-ridden when not in SqueezeIR (eg should home send codes as well as, > or instead of, returning to the home page? I think you should definitely not mess with the default behaviour of the buttons! Instead, SqueezeIR should add extra functionality to the buttons. > And should those codes be different if Home is pressed from within Now > Playing or from within Extras or whatever?). I say no. Let the buttons do what they do, and then let SqueezeIR attach some extra functionality. That was my 2 cents. -- Pokersut ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Pokersut's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=14520 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=66795 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
