I worry about the sync with file types - I think LMS will check capabilities of all players - So I'm think you could use bitrate value of ac3 flac file as a way to signal when to do 5.1 to 2 channel conversion. In addition to defining a new file type - can you make the bitrate of your Ac3/DTS flac file have a high bitrate number e.g. 384k. If you then set up squeezelite player that has your AV receiver as a player then acan play 384k and none of your other players can play 384k - LMS will automatically pick the flac to flac trasncode rule - which you can set up your 5.1-2 chan conversion.
