Cleaned, changed, fed and tired both of them landed in the bed, both staring up at the ceiling.

Nick turned to look at Alex "You know you're not at fault, right? Even Julia says so and she was the one you were worried about."

Alex looked at him and nodded slowly "Yeah, and she was right.  I don't know why but the baby- doesn't it just blow your mind sometimes?"

Nick raised an eyebrow "What?"

"That she's back to start with, but now?"

Alex shifted so that she propped her head up on her hand and arm with a better vantage point of seeing his expression "She's pregnant.  A part of me is worried about what might happen when certain people in the Legacy find out but it's a miracle."

She paused a moment before asking "Are you okay with this? With Julia and Derek?"

Nick looked at her curiously for a moment, hands behind his head, before answering "Why wouldn't I be?"

"Because you were in love with her.  And you still love her."

"That's no secret, Alex.  Even Derek knows how I felt and feel about her.  Of course I love her," he said "I love Kat and Rachel and the rest of the guys and you.  But Alex, you saw them, even before they told us."

Nick's expression turned thoughtful, remembering "They're happy and remembering how much it tore me up when she died and knowing what I know now on how Derek really felt?  I'm glad he got this chance with her."

He grinned then, even partially joking even though it was obvious he meant the more emotional part of what he said "He's going to be a father and I don't have to go crazy doing a back up check on the tyke thinking he's a demon or something."

"Think about it, Alex." he couldn't help but grin at the kid's future "Derek and Julia for parents.  The kid's going to be quoting ancient literature and climbing trees and loving every minute of it.  And with us around? They'll have it made.  And when Kat finds out? Can we say older sister syndrome?"

"And Derek is the one person I know I won't have to beat the crap out of for hurting Julia." he added, gently pushing Alex's shoulder down so that she was laying on her back "I'm okay with it.  I'm more than okay with it.  Now help me plot how we're going to set up a swing set in the back yard without either one of them knowing until we're ready to give it to them."

Alex chuckled and got comfortable before suggesting "First we borrow Kat and let her pick out the best one.  When were you wanting to do this anyway?"

"How about tomorrow?  Kat can pick, you can shop and both of you win."

"Smart man.  Tomorrow it is.  Hey, maybe we can take Rachel too if the nurse thinks she's up for it."

"Smart woman.  It's a date."
