Oh, so the problem is with your setup database file (which contains your
mail accounts, filters etc) and not with your message database. This is
why exporting/reimporting your message to a new database did not get rid
of the problem.
As there is no import/export feature for the settings, if you want to
get rid of this problem you need to create a new database (user
environment), recreate your setup manually, then copy to it the "message
database" file from your old environment to move you old messages. Note
however than if you leave the messages on the POP server for some time,
this may result in duplicated messages (they will be retrieved again).
