But switching to Thunderbird isn't going to get rid of problems. You'll just be trading PM problems for Thunderbird problems. Maybe the problems are ones you could better deal with; I don't know. And you'll get the same level of support, which I suppose is fine since Thunderbird is "free."
I had a low-level rebuild crash once a long time ago. It was a corrupted HTML message somewhere in there. I just went through and deleted some stupid spam messages I'd missed, some old HTML mail I didn't need, and the rebuild problem went away. In fact, the majority of problems I've ever had with any database driven email program, from Emailer, to Entourage, to PM and more has been with HTML mail or corrupt attachments. I think your complaint about CTM and knowing its database problems is expecting too much of a database-driven email client. All sorts of things can corrupt open databases, and not just PowerMail. Hell, I have more problems keeping Entourage up and running for my clients; Powermail doesn't give me anywhere near as much trouble. Clients that keep their email stored otherwise have their own issues. I truly do hope you get your troubles fixed. Maybe switching will do it for you. Me, I'd rather deal with the problems I know (which for me are none right now) and switch as the ultimate last resort -- i.e. PowerMail dries up and goes away forever and my current version no longer runs on whatever computer I need. I used Claris Emailer in Classic mode for quite some time before moving to Powermail. Good luck! -- Michael Lewis Off Balance Productions [EMAIL PROTECTED] www.offbalance.com
