D60 works the same way. Just recently I have tried to stop manually focussing. Either I am going slowly blind, or the manual focus is just too hard to judge on such a small viewfinder in normal light. I was getting loads of pics with the focus always about 10 feet behind the subject. In most situations, the autofocus seems to do a much better job. Roll on large viewfinders and better focusing screens. BTW Do the full frame models have larger viewfinders? Or is it still like looking through a micro compact camera.
