I have the Canon EOS 1Ds at the moment, and as you know, it has a full frame CMOS sensor. And as you would expect, the viewfinder gives you a full frame image. I have also tested the Nikon D1X and this has a 15.6 x 23.7 mm chip, giving you a x 1.5 lens magnification factor. And as far as I can remember, you get a magnified full frame view in the viewfinder. Fuji don't state the size of their sensor, but I reckon it is the same size as the Nikon D.It was 20/12/02 1:08 pm when Paul Tansley wrote:Paul - Have to say, it was a shock when I first looked through one. you need to be in there with the action in order to take anything other than
a snap (never used a rangefinder so maybe it's just a question of getting
used to it). Why did they design such piddly screens?
BTW Do the full frame models have larger viewfinders? Or is it still like
looking through a micro compact camera.
I asked that question earlier but no one took it up. :-(
