Neil B is the expert, but, to get best results you scan from scratch for the intended output.
Find out the exact final print size: if they do not have a printer in mind suggest Christopher Gonta at Newbury - he has a 44inch Epson 9600. If you can get them to tell you the make or model of the output device you can find the device's preferred ppi on the web or forum. Calculate the pixel dimensions of the file you need. Scan at a resolution to give you pixel dimensions a half or one third of the final dims. Sharpen (this is an art in itself) Interpolate (tick the resample box) up to the pixel dimensions required: set the output dimensions in Photoshop in pixels, not (or as well as) inches or cm. =============================================================== GO TO http://www.prodig.org for ~ GUIDELINES ~ un/SUBSCRIBING ~ ITEMS for SALE
