We have had problems with exposure and sharpness with our S2 and so our

I went to Focus with a fellow ProDig member, who also owns an S2. He knew
the Fuji rep so we asked him about the under exposure. I have to say, his
attitude, though jovial, put me right off him. Instead of giving a viable
explanation, he rambled on about things that only lunnies see...One thing he
did say in parting was that "You do not want it to overexpose." Well, that
sorta makes sense but doesn't explain why so many people are saying it
underexposes enough to worry them.
His logic no doubt based on holding highlight detail?......fine but when youre not scraping for more light to get an exposure where you can hand hold a long lens, It would be preferable to have the right exposure to start off with!, Dig may have great latitude, but you still dont want to have to open an image up in levels unnecessarily.
So we bought a D100 which is much sharper,.....then we got another S2 and back to back, both re set to default settings, the new one was significantly sharper when tested with the same lenses.
Any chance of seeing some examples?
Maybe, just a bit busy at the moment :)
I remember a posting about a batch that had a mirror problem and ours was in that batch of serial numbers, but we were told not to return it unless it failed, maybe that mirror problem is the cause of the unsharpness?
True I've just checked and youre right it was a battery problem, softness due to mirror sync was on the D1 we had...still it could be the same reason?
Haven't heard that one...I know some models had a potential power failure
but not shutter. Where can we see the serial numbers?
I think someone posted them on prodig, I saw them in P P magazine.
Thanks for the reply Shangara, Its reassuring to know that others have the same problem...I'm still none to happy with the colour difference between the two cameras!
