Leads me to beleif that the installers made a cock up with bits of 'old' and bits of 'new' software on my system. Is there any where I can get uninstalling directions ? God ! Mac OS 9 was a breeze in comparason ? Just roll your sleeves and get right in there !
Still a breeze: go to Hard Disk>Library>Printers>Epson and throw away 'SP1290.plugin'.
