This is unlikely, but I suppose possible, lots of people have reported no great shifts with installing later drivers. You may have just to find out which pre-set that you previously specified has been re-set to a default by the install.
I've tried and installed both... and can see no references in the installed
software to the 'improvements' the software is meant to give (edge to edge
printing from the software on the Australian site)
I think you are just going to have to get the Rota-trim out.
.Leads me to beleif that the installers made a cock up with bits of 'old' and
bits of 'new' software on my system.

God ! Mac OS 9 was a breeze in comparason ? Just
roll your sleeves and get right in there !
AFAIC tell most of the problems reported are to do with the way OSX prints. The Epson controls are less important and the OSX more so than under OS9. It is possible to center prints under OSX (have a look in the archive) it is just less obvious because you set up custom paper sizes in the OSX part of it and ignore the pre-sets in the Epson part.

Once set up properly, printing to a 1290 is as easy as printing in OS9 IMHO. I wouldn't personally try printing edge to edge in either 9 or 10. Life is shortened enough by getting ink off rollers without actually inviting a spray-fest in there.
