Not sure about the 1290, but the 2100 is certainly able to print to the edges of A4 without soiling it's print rollers (never had occasion to try this on A3). I would love to try this in OSX, but haven't been able to try out the latest driver as my printer as left home and moved in with the repairer (3 weeks and still waiting.....)

I know I found borderless printing impossible with any of the earlier OSX drivers.

If you need borderless I'd say its worth the risk!

I too was excited at the prospect of edge to edge printing when I first purchased my 1290’s. However, when I had a think about it, I decided it just wasn’t worth the risk! How, I asked myself, is it possible to spray ink right to the very edge of the paper and not get any ink on the rollers etc?
