I thank you Matthew. I'm certainly loosing mine...Mac OSX AND Epson Drivers.
Another wasted day ! Feels like I'm dealing with a reinvention of what was
made to reinvent the wheel. Oh boy !

Dear David and all,

Just a thought, but is true ‘edge to edge’ printing really possible/sensible?

Has anyone actually dared try it?

I too was excited at the prospect of edge to edge printing when I first purchased my 1290’s. However, when I had a think about it, I decided it just wasn’t worth the risk! How, I asked myself, is it possible to spray ink right to the very edge of the paper and not get any ink on the rollers etc?

If I am under estimating the wonders of Epson and modern technology I’d love to hear about it and I’ll give it a go. But if the wonders of Epson and modern technology are so amazing, how come a whole forum full of several thousand seeming intelligent people have to scratch their heads together just to get a print in the middle of a piece of A4 paper?

A very useful tip I picked up from the achieves a few months ago, stemmed from a similar discussion. Use OSX, but print from PS in classic. Now here’s the good bit. Duplicate your PS application file and rename it PS Classic, ‘Get info’ on it and check ‘Open in Classic enviroment’.
Now you can have two versions of PS7 running simultaneously, just make sure you launch the OSX one first. Classic is happy to print while you carry on in OSX. Both versions of PS can sit quite happily next to each other in the dock. I have found this really useful (many thanks to one of the Bob’s (Croxford I think) for the original suggestion).

I hate going back to OS9 or classic, but for printing in PS I’ve made an exception. It’s obviously a bit tedious working on a file in OSX having to save it, open it in classic, print it etc, but for some tasks it seems to be the only way.

Hope this is of help,

Simon
