First off, apologies for my earlier rant. Put it down to getting out of the
wrong side of bed or something. Being misquoted, though is something I
really hate, and unfortunately easily happens, in life and more so on lists.
I understand that you meant no harm, I'm sorry, perhaps I should have bitten
my tongue. Hell, I even made a huge mistake in my post, as Kevin Horton
pointed out, none of us are perfect.

Anyway. You seem a little confused over the LaCie drives. You are mistaking
their size in Gb's with their interface. LaCie make various "big disks", the
two largest being 400Gb & 500Gb. However they also make each of these disks
with either a Firewire 400 interface (400Mb/s) or an Firewire 800 (800Mb/s)
& USB2 interface. The drive I was pricing is the 500Gb with Firewire 800
interface.

I have no idea how Andreas saved 600. It was his post, not mine. Maybe he
did buy 6 drives, I do not and can not know. He does owe me a bottle of
Elderflower though :-))

It may or may not be cheaper in the states, depending on exchange rate,
shipping etc. But for sure, its extremely cheap at the Apple store, and the
only reason I can imagine for that, is someone's cock up. As my original
post stated, buy while their hot. I can't believe they will stay at that
price.

They have free express shipping on all orders over 200.
