Dear Paul

I am sure Shangara meant absolutely no harm and intended to be light hearted however I believe you were right to correct and you have raised a subject which has been concerning me.

I recently did a google search for my name and top of the list was a link to something stripped from the PRODIG archive. I cannot remember the details and would generally stand by any comments made to the list but these links appear completely out of context.

My worry is that if I only ever use PRODIG to say what a wonderful photographer I am then it can do me little harm but I would prefer to discuss all topics completely openly. It is not hard to imagine scenario where a potential client or friend does a quick search only to find I have been complaining about one of their products or asking for advice on which end of the camera to look through. They may just not like the tone of my posts. After all we all have the odd 'off' day we would rather didn't come back to haunt us.

I also would like others on the list to feel they can speak openly about shoddy treatment or ill conceived equipment without the exchange appearing so easily and so out of context. I would rather that a contributor can fly off the handle on a subject, be proved wrong, stand corrected and that be the end of it.

Is it just me being paranoid? or am I compensating for the fact I am annoyed with myself because my web site did not appear in the search? something I will have to attend to.

I realise this is now straying off topic but thought I should air my concerns and find out if I am the only one. Incidentally my junk mail has increased from around one a month to around ten a day since the archive started but i realise that could be any number of other factors.

All the best. Regards

Jonathan Keenan

PS - I'm sorry if my post seems harsh, but your post left me with the
feeling, that you were trying to ridicule me. I don't like that feeling, and
will always defend myself. This is a widely read forum, and if left
unanswered, people reading your post could have gotten the opinion, that I
had "talked bollocks". I had not. I was trying to help people save some
money, if they were in the market for a Hard Drive.
