And here I was thinking I was talking to a pal...Oh, well...live and learn...My facts were correct this time, fortunately. I copy and pasted them from pages found on Google and on the Apple site and they were for the FW500 GB, 7200 Firewire and not the FW400 GB. Here are the URLs from History: http://www.cheap-pc-ideas.co.uk/cheap-pc-ideas-shopping-for-z-dabs-Lacie.htm http://pcworld.pricegrabber.com/search_getprod.php/masterid=719595/ut=50c1d2 aa411d34d6 I think you know the Apple page already - and yes I do know how to get to it but thanks for listing the method to get to it as I'm sure there's always one lurker who doesn't know how to do a search or navigate around a site. > I did not say it cost 49. Please get your facts correct. I did not say you said it cost 49! :-) And no I did not mean to imply that you were talking bollocks or try to correct you, I was trying to find out why what Andreas said and what you said didn't match. I do think you are over reacting, though. I also knew who said what, and what you said was quoted with one arrow and what Andreas said with two! That is the convention on the newsgroups and if anyone doesn't know about it, they should and will now. However, you seemed to agree with Andreas so I spoke to you rather than Andreas. Andreas said: >>thank you, you just saved me 600 quid, reading your note! - I ordered within >>10mins. and had no complaint. And you said: >No problem. Just annoyed I didn't spot it before I bought my other >500Gb. Oh well. Apple list the price at 649.00. My maths was never my strong point but I make that a list price of 49 quid if Andreas saved 600. Seeing as you agree with Andreas, you must also agree with the maths I did, since there are no clues to indicate otherwise. Even if you saved a 100 on a drive, you would have to buy 6 drives to save 600. Maybe Andreas did buy 6 drives but there's no mention in the post! So, these ARE the facts as I saw them and no I am NOT going to admit who my source is even if your name is Alastair Campbell :-) "Apple 649.00 Dabs 656.82 [see URL above] pcworld.pricegrabber.com $783.79 [ 480.23 quid. PageComputer - see URL above] It seems much cheaper in the States. The above includes [APPROXIMATE] shipping and tax!" Apple do say, if you care to look for it: Prices are inclusive of 17.5% VAT but exclusive of delivery charges (unless otherwise indicated). I did not read "otherwise" before posting, just to get the facts straight. Respectfully, Shangara Singh. =============================================================== GO TO http://www.prodig.org for ~ GUIDELINES ~ un/SUBSCRIBING ~ ITEMS for SALE
