Thanks Simon, 

My assumption was that if I saved a camera .jpg at max in PS it would be the
same as it was originally, just giving you 100% of what you had in the first
place but as mentioned it is larger so therefore does it interpolate up the
original to the photoshop level 12? or is it just the way that the two
different systems work that one ends up being larger than the other but are
in fact the same (hope that makes sense), I just do not want to degrade from
the original by repeated sizing and saves, it just seems that a straight
save as the file was is not possible it either shrinks or grows in size.
