It is my understanding PS will not introduce more artifacts IFF the RGB data is not altered in any way ... as if PS has a method for applying the exact JPEG quality to unaltered data. An experiment would therefore be interesting: (1) create a copy of the JPEG file. (2) open the copy ... assign AdobeRGB, add copyright and save.
