Which brings me to ask if there are any reasonable methods of backing up work?
I have been spending about two days transferring files from CDs to a hard disk for a couple of projects. Everything is on two sets of CDs so I wouldn't lose any work if the HD failed. What I would lose is the two days work. I have already experienced practical difficulties of having copies on a second disk. I could mistakenly do work on the copy instead of the original.
Apologies. This went before I finished it.
Is the only answer a raid system or are there cheaper automatic alternatives?

Paul,
BTW my previous post was not meant as a personal attack and apologies if you took it as such, but having once (and only once thank God !) been in Kirsty's situation, the very mention of 'back up' merely brings the phrase 'if only ' to mind.
