Hello, I was wondering if anyone on the list would be able to help me.
Yesterday (without any prior warning) my hard-drive ( Western Digital
100gig , less than 1 yr old) refused to mount. I was able to re-install
a copy of OSX on my second internal hard disk and once back in to the
computer, I ran OSX Disk Utility and fsck -y which both reported
problems they were unable to fix ( invalid node structure). This
problem is confined to my OSX system partition and all other partitions
and drives are working fine. Unfortunately ( for me), I have all my
working data locked up in the home directory, consequently I don't even
know what's in my diary for today!

I am a bit reluctant to run Nortons as I have heard so many horror
stories ( and experienced them myself) , BUT they say it has got better
with OSX, but does anyone on the list have any experience ( good or
bad?) with Nortons 8 or any recommendations for other disk doctor
utilitiy programs. I am desperate to recover the data ( yes I know i
should have backed up!)
thanks very much in advance for any help?
