The degradation (visible, noticeable, measurable or otherwise) is not in the
rotation itself. Its in the "save" process that needs to be done after the
rotation. As Tiff & PSD are not lossy, when saving, there is no loss or
degrading of any sort. Rotate away, happily  :-)

Its the fact that with a JPG, the process will always remove a little bit of
quality, when you save, that is the concern.

Shangara is arguing the point that this loss is minute, and therefore
unimportant. I would agree. If you want to rotate in JPG format you will
never notice the difference (I've not tested it, but I believe his
findings). However, if there is another option, where the rotation is
totally lossless, my personal view would be, that it makes sense to use that
option.
