Many thanks for the replies.  The fault is caused by a full waste ink
pad.  It should be a simple matters of a few key strokes on the 3
buttons on the front, to reset the counter. However Epson will not tell
me what the key sequence is and insist I send the printer to their
service agent. Needless to say I am not impressed.
