Yes, but did you "synchronize" the database with the original files?
This will "push" the changes made in iView back into the original files.
Dear David,
I clicked the green tick icon at top of column which seemed to accept the change but did not "synchronize" the database, I don't think! I didn't want to create a catalogue, just perform the key-wording in the same way as when I use iView to rename files I do not need to save a catalogue. So maybe thats my problem.
There is no "standard" for how this metadata is embedded in RAW files, thus it's
pointless to do so at this time unless you want to visit Dante's 7th level.
CS "tags" the data to a sidecar file as this can be easily "detached" during
processing of the RAW file. After the "bits" have been processed, the metadata
is pulled back into the file before saving as a TIFF, EPS or Jpeg.
I will trust the sidecar idea then & hope it really does find this file when I work to a TIFF. It's just useful to batch caption all my session files in one go, before I've decided which to work for the gallery as I hate having to do it one by one. In that way, JPEG working was a lot less time-consuming.
Thank you David, and everyone else who has contributed to my query,
Kind regards,
