I see a slightly pinkish look to a screen calibrated with Gretag's
<Match> SW. Nothing catastrophic, but, for me it's noticeable [look at
fleshtones].

Why not download a demo of basICColor Display SW, link at:

how is the Pictrography profiled?
I'm guessing the Frontier is simply running as sRGB as most do.

IF your LaCie is profiled properly you're unlikely to see an
improvement in accuracy with an Apple LCD display. However, you would
see better luminance, sharper detail and an <easier> screen to look at
for long hours. Gamut is no longer an issue [I prefer Apple 20]. I was
lucky enough to be invited to speak at the GATF annual conference in
Phoenix last December and I didn't see a single CRT in a demo booth. -
Says a lot?

As others have mentioned - It is very important to view prints
properly. Because of many enquiries about this very thing I have
researched <print viewing lightboxes> and found GTI to have a very good
and well deserved reputation, their viewers are available at a
reasonable price and with a practical dimmable option for softproofing
use. At our recent IN+OUT seminar at Apple, the GTI PDV was well
received - attendees commented on a near perfect match between Apple
LCD 17+20+proof in the GTI lightbox.

>Would switching the gamma to 1.8 help?
no
using basICColor Display software with your eyeOne almost certainly
would though.
