Epson printers come ready primed with the same solvent solution as their OEM
inks. Lyson inks use a different type of solvent solution. If the two
solutions mix, it causes ink particles to flocculate and block up the
nozzles. This is why Lyson make cleaning carts for the use of their inks.

So the procedure is....insert cleaning carts, run a CMYK purge print through
half a dozen times, then switch off and leave overnight. Then in the morning
run another half dozen CMYK purge prints. THEN install the CIS.
