If you are on Mac then firewire(400) is faster than USB2 but on the
Windows platform they are about the same. Apple have some serious
issues with their current implementation of both firewire and USB2. The
G5 is slower writing to USB2 and firewire than an eMac and slower
writing to Firwire800 than a G4 laptop.
