With the list mums permission I am posting this OT message..
I have just bought a 23" Apple Cinema Display. I then bought a Formac adapter box so that I could plug it into my 17" ten month old Powerbook. The results look terrible with green flicker on the black areas. Jigsaw now say that I can't plug a Cinema display into a laptop. After a 2 1/2 hour phone call to Apple support they confirmed that it is possible and that it should work OK. I have spoken to two other people who have done it with smaller screen powerbooks without problem. The screen works fine on my G4 desktop.
Has anyone else had the green flicker problem? Is the Formac adapter at fault? Does anyone else have this combination working?
I know it might sound silly but I bought this screen to give me a liftable alternative to my CRT screens for working away from home.
Replies off list please but if something interesting turns up I'll post the findings.
